Paula Abdul is said to be so shaken by the suicide of the stalker outside her home that she's been living elsewhere.
Page Six reports that Ms. Abdul even had "healers" come to cleanse the house of the spirit of dead stalker Paula Goodspeed.
A rep for the "American Idol" judge says, "There's no validity to this. She's been home since the incident happened. There's no issue with spirits. Paula is shocked and saddened by what transpired. Her heart and prayers go out to the Goodspeed family."
The GBB wants to give a big shout out to Bev Smith, host of American Urban Radio Network's "The Bev Smith Show." The esteemed Ms. Smith has been named one of Essence magazine's 25 Most Influential African-Americans.
Topping the list was, you guessed it, the man who's bringing cool back to the White House, President-elect Barack Obama.
Among the others making the cut: Donna Brazile, Valerie Jarrett, Queen Latifah, Will Smith, Wyclef Jean, Kanye West, will.i.am, Tyler Perry, Dr. Iam Smith, N.Y. Gov. David Paterson, Black AIDS Institute CEO Phill Willson and radio hosts Farai Chideya, Michel Martin and Michele Norris.
We would say it's nice just to be nominated but we don't think we were.
Oh, well, maybe next year.
Now let's go from the sublime to the ridiculous.
A man is in critical condition after being stabbed at the sixth annual Urban Music Awards in London. Apparently, somebody got to fighting and chairs and champagne bottles went flying and now a young man in his 20s is in the hospital.
British stars Estelle, Adele, Leona Lewis, Dizzee Rascal and Duffy were among the nominees set to perform, but organizers called the whole thing off.
Sounds like somebody forgot how to act when they go out in public.
Debbie Matenopoulos, host of E!'s "Daily 10," says she's saddened and surprised that her husband, Jay Faires, is filing for divorce.
The two wed in July 2003 but separated last March.
Still, Deb tells People that she didn't know Jay was planning to take this step.
"I am not a proponent of divorce, and I believe in working things out," she said. "So you can only imagine my extreme sadness and disillusionment when I was informed of my husband's divorce proceedings, much like you were, by reading them online."
Well, Debbie, our advice on this kind of thing never changes -- cry two tears in a bucket and move on.
Somebody else who's just about fit to be tied is Samantha Ronson, Lindsay Lohan's girl friend or girlfriend, we don't really know which one.
Anyway, Sam is upset (and rightly so) about LiLo being attacked last week with some flour by one of those crazed PETA people who thought Ms. Lohan was wearing fur.
"The girl who threw [the flour] acted like an animal herself," Sam wrote on her MySpace page. "I take that back, it's an insult to animals to group her in with them, my dog is FAR more civilized than that person."
Girl, we got your back on that one.
We love dogs, cats, gerbils, whales, polar bears, etc., as much as the next person, but with all the homelessness, abused children and whatnot, we'd rather throw flour on their behalf.
Katt Williams is reportedly in a South Carolina Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
Brother man has been acting really erratic lately, dropping out of hosting duties for BET Awards, not showing up for a spot on "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" and having several run-ins with police.
The latest problem was last weekend in Sumter, S.C., where police said he tried to rent a room at the Mount Vernon Inn while dressed in a bathrobe with a towel wrapped around his head.
Since he hadn't violated any laws, the police left but things went downhill with the 35-year-old comedian seeming disoriented and incoherent.
Eventually, Katt's family members were called, and he was taken to the hospital.
We're gonna send some prayers up for him.
