J.R., Bobby, Sue Ellen and other members of the Ewing clan are getting back together for a "Dallas" reunion party.
Cast members of the popular prime-time soap opera that ran from 1978-91 will return to the Southfork Ranch north of Dallas on Nov. 8 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the show. Several key actors, including Larry Hagman, Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy, have confirmed they will attend.
Hagman, who played central character J.R. Ewing, a scheming oil baron and cattle rancher, said he is looking forward to the event.
"I may not be able to do the 40th," said Hagman, 76, in an interview with The Dallas Morning News. "Thirty years is pretty good, and the show is still very popular."
The reunion at the ranch in suburban Parker, north of Dallas, is open to the public. Tickets go on sale Aug. 22 and will cost between $100 and $1,000. The event will include fireworks, a country music concert, a question-and-answer session with the cast and tours of the mansion.
"Larry and I will have a bowl of Mueslix and a small shot of prune juice and be in bed by 9 o'clock," Duffy, who played Bobby Ewing, told the newspaper. "We'll let people file by the bed and watch us go to sleep. I think we can hang with the best of them until midnight." (Associated Press)
Comedy Central is giving comedic partners Michael Showalter and Michael Ian Black a place to work through their problems.
The network has picked up a sketch-comedy show pilot from the duo called "Michael and Michael Have Issues," in which the two former members of The State address the beefs they have with each other and themselves.
The cast also includes Josh Pais ("Law & Order," "The Station Agent"). According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pais will play the producer of a show-within-the-show, and his character will share a name -- Jim Biederman -- with one of "Michael and Michael's" real executive producers.
Black and Showalter have worked together for years, dating back to the days of "The State" on MTV in the early 1990s. They also starred in Comedy Central's oddball series "Stella" a couple years ago and co-starred in the movies "Wet Hot American Summer" and "The Baxter."(Zap2it.com)
After delivering one of the worst performances in the history of the MTV Video Music Awards, Britney Spears has a chance to be crowned this year as the absolute best.
The rebounding pop queen is nominated for video of the year for "Piece of Me," a clip that had fun with her reputation as a tabloid queen.
Other nominees included the Jonas Brothers for "Burnin Up," Chris Brown for "Forever," the Pussycat Dolls for "When I Grow Up" and newcomers The Ting Tings for "Shut Up and Let Me Go."
Also announced yesterday were nominees Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Slipknot, Linkin Park and Foo Fighters in the category of best rock video.
This is Spears third nomination for this year's VMAs; earlier, fans nominated her for best pop video and best female video, both for "Piece of Me."
There's a possibility she will get a chance to redeem last year's performance at this year's VMAs, to be held Sept. 7 in Los Angeles; MTV has confirmed they are in talks to have Spears appear in some capacity, and she's appearing in two video ads to promote the show.

Last season saw a plus-size woman win "America's Next Top Model." Could this be the season for a transgender winner?
One of the 14 women competing on the 11th cycle of "America's Next Top Model" is transgender, reveals Us Weekly.
"My cards were dealt differently," says Isis, 22, who describes herself as "a woman born physically male."
Isis, who shares a name with the ancient Egyptian goddess, doesn't necessarily see herself as a role model for transgender people though.
"I like to help people, but I'm here to follow my dreams," she says.
Hailing from Prince George's County, Md., the former receptionist currently lives in New York City and works as a program assistant at a nonprofit organization.
GLAAD president Neil Giuliano thinks Isis' presence on "ANTM" is "an unprecedented opportunity for a community that is underrepresented on television. We applaud Tyra Banks and The CW for making this historic visibility of transgender people possible."

The omnipresent Regis Philbin will cross paths with the omnivorous Marshall Eriksen on "How I Met Your Mother" this fall.
Reege, who currently hosts CBS's "Million Dollar Password" in addition to his morning show "Live With Regis and Kelly," will make a guest appearance on the CBS comedy's second episode of the season, scheduled for Sept. 29.
As with most of his cameos, Philbin will be playing himself. "How I Met Your Mother" is the second guest spot Philbin has booked for the start of the fall season.
He and "Live" co-host Kelly Ripa will also pop up on the season premiere ABC's "Ugly Betty" a few days before his CBS appearance.(Zap2it.com)
